Time with Abba

We believe that the primary way of communing with God is through His Word and the Spirit.

Time With Abba (TWA) is the practice of entering into our heavenly Abba's presence through His daily Word.

It is dedicated time to read, meditate on, pray, and respond to God's Word. TWA allows us to be fathered by our heavenly Abba, receiving His words of love, affirmation, and instruction. It is a time to exercise and reclaim the gift of obedience to the Father and to receive His inheritance

For the past two decades, our church has been reading the same passages daily and going through the entire Bible once a year. This daily feeding of God’s word has kept us in unity over the years and has become the foundation of our ministry and prayer life.

Will you join us in cultivating intimacy with our Abba together?

Beginner's Guide to TWA

1

READ | scribe

Read the 4 passages of the day straight through

  • Copy down key words and phrases along the way

  • Each day's reading will include passages from Psalms, Proverbs, the Old and New Testaments

2

REFLECT | identify

Identify the following 3 areas with different colored pen/markers by underlying and/or circling:

  • God's nature, virtues, and actions

  • Man's fallen condition of sins, iniquities, wicked character, and bent will

  • Our inheritance and promises in Christ

3

RESPOND | pray

Pray according to your reflections:

  • Praise the nature, virtues, and actions of God

  • Confess and repent of the fallen nature, sins, condition, character, and will of yourself and of others (i.e. your bloodline, cities, and nations)

  • Declare the God-given promises and inheritances over yourself and others

4

REST | listen

In silence, wait to hear the voice of God

  • Ask the Lord to fill you with His HOLY SPIRIT and give you the eyes and ears of the Spirit

  • As you wait, you may have impressions of words or pictures

  • Jot down or draw the words or pictures as you hear and see in the Spirit
