Why a “Couple Checkup?”
Great question. Just as we regularly take our cars in for a tune up or go for an annual physical, relationships need routine check ups–regularly. But the truth is, as time passes, most couples struggle to invest in their relationship, especially in their marriage. Whether it’s because we becomes too busy with work or family gets hectic with the kids or because resources are few and far between, finding intentional help in the form of relationship enrichment or counseling does not happen as often as it could (and probably should).
We are apparently the most marrying and divorcing culture in the world! And as excited as engaged couples are in preparing for their wedding day, only 30%-40% of engaged couples will seek out premarital education to prepare them for the rest of their lives together. Many times, the premarital education may only be 2-3 sessions… not nearly enough to prepare for a life time together.
With that in mind, it is our firm belief that couples deserve to experience and develop the best of who they can be for themselves, their partners, and if any, for their children as well. When we have healthy couple relationships, we have healthy families, who then help to create healthier communities. The positive ripple effects are hopeful and far reaching, but it must begin with the individual and their partner. So, do yourself, your partner, your relationship, and children a favor and come join us to learn helpful tools to grow closer in your relationship. It will be well worth your time.
