Youth News: Mar. 15, 2019
Friday March 15th, 2019
Hello Youth Family!
Praise the Lord for an awesome and healing weekend with Pastor Mike Plunket! I hope that you were challenged and encouraged to go deeper into a relationship with one another and with God. If you haven’t yet done so, please take a look at the messages from the Deeper Life Conference this weekend through the sjcac sermon webpage. If you would like to pursue deeper relationships with Emotional Healing and/or Soul Care please fill out this Fill in Response Form and get connected with others who also desire to go deeper.
The Bronze Snake Numbers 21:4-9:
To be honest with you, I don’t like this story here because I feel if we don’t read this story well, we can misinterpret this. The Israelite are complaining so God sent snakes into the camp and people were bitten. The people repented and God told Moses to make a pole with a snake so that all who look at the snake will recover.
“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so, must the Son of Man be lifted up.” John 3:14
“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.” Isaiah 45:22
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— Galatians 3:13
If you’re following the verse progression, we learn that Jesus represents the serpent in the passage. And the message is that when we look to Jesus and believe, we may be healed and saved from our own curse of sin. Youth Family, I bless you to trust in Jesus this week and look to him alone for healing.
Blessings,
Pastor David Kao

Take a listen to Jackie Perry, author of “Gay Girl, Good Girl”, as she recounts her past brokenness and how it pushed her towards an alternative lifestyle. She also openly shares her path towards repentance and healing, and how her husband walks alongside as she continues to heal. Please take a listen and pray with your youth student.
