New E2 Care Groups
Friday January 25th, 2019Dear Parent’s of SJCAC,
This year for Youth Group, we are starting a program called Care Group and this Saturday night will be our first kick off! Our student leaders have felt God’s heart in bringing wholeness and fruitfulness to our Youth Body and thus created Care Groups.
What is the Purpose for it?
The big purpose of care groups is to create a sense of belonging. The student leadership saw many problems regarding isolation, kids that go to church and E2 that feel invisible. Care groups would be a place where they are known, accepted and connected with one another. Basically, we want to build a healthy and loving community with Jesus as our foundation.
What will it look like?
The groups are purposefully mixed with different ages. So, student leaders would be reaching out to peers, young and “old”. Since care groups just birthed, the role for student leaders is to simply care for and nurture the students in his or her group. This could look differently for each leader, but similarities would include:
- Praying for them individually
- Sending an encouragement or blessing during the week
- Spending time with them during E2
- Sharing their life with them
The goal is to build an intimate trust within care groups.
On a typical E2 night, we have designated 7:00-7:15pm for care groups to happen at the beginning of our night. Students leaders will spend time with their groups and speak life with one another. However, at the end of every month, Student Leaders of the Care Groups will lead the Youth Night and do more with students.
Blessings,
