Emergency Homelessness Prevention Program

Being obedient to God always requires us to have courage to overcome oppositions and challenges. On the 12/2 Prayer Meeting, when Pastor Ted invited us to join the COVID-19 Emergency Homelessness Prevention Program (CEHPP) Missions Trip, I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to respond “Yes” despite the fact that I am old and cannot speak Spanish.  In the meantime, I  struggled with some deterrents. A few days before the Missions Trip, my brother was admitted to the Emergency Room and demanded more of my time to care for him.  I also debated whether to take the risk of being infected with the COVID-19 virus at my age and to set aside all my commitments to make time available for this 3-week volunteer opportunity.  Read more →

My Journey to Gainesville, Georgia

What’s up friends?! My name is Allison; I’m a youth here at SJCAC and wanted to share about my journey to Gainesville, Georgia this summer.

I started this journey with Adventures in Missions (AIM) thinking that I would be going to Peru this past summer. Because of COVID I was given the alternative option to take a domestic trip to Gainesville, Georgia. Originally, I applied for this secondary trip because I had already fundraised. As the time got closer for me to leave, I was extremely excited to be surrounded by new people who would push me in my walk with the Lord. I was excited to experience missions in this country, be in a new state, and draw closer to God’s heart. When I got there, I sat alone one morning and struggled. God’s Awesome Work in Vietnam

This past October, I had the privilege to go to Vietnam with 8 brothers and sisters from SJCAC. We partnered with 4 other team members (a Pastor, a Pastor’s wife, a head nurse & a hairdresser) from a local church in Vietnam. Our mission was to minister to some of the minority people groups in Vietnam. We visited several churches in remote areas providing medical check-ups/ supplies, books to the children, free hair-cuts, & prayers. Our team served over 600+ people during the 2 week mission trip.
